Tokyo: Roggykei Fall 2017

Shown in a darkened room, with a deeply somber soundtrack, the Roggykei Fall 2017 collection seemed steeped in mourning. To further promote the mood, the scene was set not as a runway, but more like theater in the round with models walking a slow funereal procession around the room, giving each section of the audience an up close and personal inspection of the pieces from every angle, (something no designer who didn't have complete confidence in their tailoring or construction would ever consider doing.) The overall effect of the production was pure melancholy, while the overall effect of the clothing was simple elegance and together these two elements worked together beautifully, for a stunning and highly memorable show.
