Designer Katie Gallagher has been a darling of the art and fashion world crossover crew since her earliest days showing as part of the now defunct Milk Made Fashion Week in New York. And it is easy to see why, always fresh but with a consistent quality and point of view, Gallagher delivers the perfect blend of sport-chic meets goth club glamour that appeals to this more daring, and more confident, fashion fan. And while her pieces may never be a mainstay of Main Street America, there is no denying their desirability among these particular customers.
For Fall 2017 Gallagher spoke to this customer in a way that only she can, by mixing sheer black overlays with bold burnt oranges for an effect that felt somehow somber and energetic at the same time. Silhouettes were in the extremes either body-con (very, very body-con) or voluminous and seemed to suggest a playful spirit hiding under all that darkness.
