In Scandinavia there are few brands that can boast having a truly hyper-global influence but iconic Finnish label Marimekko is definitely one that can. As part of the 60th anniversary of the label, Creative Director Rebekka Bay brought a retrospective collection to Copenhagen Fashion Week and invited pretty much anyone who wanted to attend. What resulted was a packed crowd standing in the pouring rain but enthusiasm and admiration for the brand seemed to keep everyone somewhat dry as they clapped and cheered for the pop art florals, and bold prints, for which the brand is known.
