All the news that's pretty enough to print: Week of May 22

Over the past year Style Wylde has seen a massive growth in popularity and demand for real runway coverage both front of house and behind the scenes. This has lead us to refocus our Beauty section towards backstage beauty reports from fashion weeks all over the world, and away from your standard beauty news. But that doesn't mean that we don't still love a little 'Breaking News' in the world of beauty. So, to feed our own need for news, we are launching  All The News That's Pretty Enough to Print,  a weekly column that serves as a roundup of what's been going down in the world of beauty. From new products, to corporate developments, and even the occasional 'get the look' tip sheet recap; this is where you'll find it on Style Wylde.

Week of May 22

First up, new product line alert: TiGi Bedhead is releasing a brand new line, Beach Collection, just in time for summer according to the official press release. "The Total Beachin’ Shampoo, Conditioner, and Beach Bound Protection Spray for Colored Hair protects against the combination of salt, chlorine water, baking sun and sticky humidity that can leave hair dried out, brittle, broken and frizzy."  In celebration of the collection, TiGi has also done a collaboration with beachy-swim goddess Mara Hoffman. Again, according to the official press release between Memorial Day and Labor Day, "Purchase the entire collection and receive a sarong or tote designed exclusively by swimwear guru Mara Hoffman."  For more information checkout TiGi Bedhead's official Facebook page, and be sure not to miss our own Backstage Beauty Report from the Mara Hoffman Swim 2015 show

Next up, this week the beauty world has been a buzz with the release of Still Standing Spray, a product developed by Emmy-award winning TV producer Lyn Butler, that claims to be "The First and Only Product of Its Kind: A Spray that Keeps Your Feet Comfortable While Wearing The Highest Heels Longer To Prevent “Stiletto Suffering” With all the agony that high-heel-wearing women have suffered over the years, it’s surprising that no one thought of this before. New Still Standing® Spray does what many gel insoles and flower inserts try to do but don’t. It actually prevents the discomfort caused by standing, walking or just wearing high heels or stilettos. As a result, feet feel just as good after an hour and a half as they did when you first put on your shoes. It stops “Stiletto Suffering™” before it starts."

Sound like an amazing, nearly to-good-to-be-true product? Well, unfortunately for the company, Refinery 29 was first on the scene with a product test and review video, in which tester Dianna Mazzone stated the product "just doesn't work."  Total bummer. I guess this means the age-old question, "Do I look fab in my Louboutins now but risk a major foot pain later, or do I wear a more sensible heel and feel great all night" still stands.

Also in beauty news this week, One of my personal favorite runway nail brands JINsoon, has come-up with a step by step how to for Memorial Day barbecue appropriate nails! To get the look you'll need to use JINsoon hues: Doux, Cool Blue, Kookie White, and Coquette. Step by step photo gallery and directions below

Step 1: Apply a base coat like JINsoon Power Coat

Step 2: Apply JINsoon Doux

Step 3: Using a striping brush, create slight waves with JINsoon Cool Blue diagonally from the left to the right side of the nail. Vary the thickness so one side is thicker than the other. You can do this by slightly applying more pressure with the brush as you draw the line.

Step 4: Using JINsoon Kookie White, mimic the line from Step 3 right below it

Step 5: Repeat Step 4 using JINsoon Coquette

Step 6: Apply a top gloss like JINsoon Top Gloss

And finally this week, Seminal beauty trend-spotter Roseanna Roberts, who has served as the Director of Color Trends at The Color Association of the United States for the past five years, is calling it like she sees it as far as Summer 2015 color trends go. Within her trend report she names:  "Haute Apricot" for cheeks, "Shaded Pastels", "Glittering Golds", and "Bright Blues" on eyes, and "CulturRED" for lips as the hottest colors. (presumably not all at the same time!)  Check out some of our favorite images from the Spring 2015 runway season supporting these trends below.
