Feeling down about the current state of politics and world events? Did you know, research shows doing something to benefit others is a sure fire way to lift your own spirits? It's true! And luckily for those living in the San Francisco Bay Area, on Friday January 27th an opportunity will come to do just that and have a lot of fun in the process, at the Designing a Difference Gala.
The event, which includes fashion shows, a cocktail hour, live entertainment, DJs and dancing, will raise funds for programs at Designing a Difference which aim to help those in need find employment within the apparel manufacturing industry. Here's a bit more from the DaD official press release:
Designing a Difference's mission is to create job opportunity and employment for people with employment barriers through a Workforce Training Program that will directly employ our students in our own Apparel Manufacturer. We have organized this exclusive event with the goal of raising money to fund the startup of the manufacturer. We are reaching out to not only share our movement but to ask you to join our community network with your support by attending our Gala and sharing our movement with your friends and the community we serve.
In the last three years, we have provided meals to over 25,000 of our hungry homeless neighbors and have had over 2,000 volunteers join us at our monthly #HashtagLunchbagSF outreach events.
Tickets are available online here and are priced on a 'what you can afford basis' with $30 minimum recommended.
So shake off those blues, and dig deep San Francisco, it's time to prove we can come out for programs that really do make a difference
