Weekend music round-up

Friday:  Starting in San Francisco we have 555 at Mighty with $5 cover, $5 drinks, and 5 DJ’s. At the Hotel Utah you’ll find Tremor Low, Alright Class, Photons, and Grand Atlantic – show is at 9 and the cover is $6. At Bottom of the Hill it’s a night of punk and hard rock with FlexXbronco, The Corruptors, Spitting Cobras, and All Bets on Death – show starts at 9. At The Independent Stockholm Syndrome have the first of their two weekend shows alongside These United States. At Thee Parkside you can catch No Bunny, TV Ghost, The Outdoorsmen, and Mom all for $8.

Over in Berkeley at the Shattuck Down Low are Phife Dawg and Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest – doors are at 9 and tickets are $20 at the door. In Oakland the Uptown is open early with no cover and $2 PBR’s before 9 so you can enjoy Little Teeth, The Splinters, The Myonics, plus many more.

Saturday: We’ll start in Hayes Valley at the Rickshaw Stop as they bring to town Portland’s Hillstomp with Luke Franks and Black Crown String Band – all this starts at 8.30. Thee Parkside has two chances to enjoy bands with two free shows. At 3pm it’s a happy hour show with Victim Nation, Cheetahs on the Moon, and Fingers of Passion, and then at 9, it’s the Cruz Skate Shop 2 year birthday bash with Badstrip, Pins of Light, and Space Vacation. At Café Du Nord Elliot Randall & The Deadmen are having a CD release party with The Famous and Cyndi Harvell. Over at Mezzanine it’s another $5 night with Richie Panic, Sleazemore, Tenderloins, Hottub DJ’s, and Bad Neighbors – doors are at 9 and the cover is $5 all night.

To Oakland and the Uptown has Brwn Bflo with Do Dat, and Toqueson. At the Stork it’s Zodiac Death Valley, Black Apples, and Hott Daxx.

On Sunday tickets go on general sale for the eagerly anticpated tour by Massive Attack. Tickets are available from 10am via Ticketmaster for the shows on May 25 & 26th.
