Weekend Music Round-up

Photo by Sol GutierrezOver the weekend Thee Parkside is having it's annual Scatterbrain Jamboree to benefit the SF Aids Foundation. Bands across the two days include Top Critters, Unit Breed, Ugly Winner, The Dead Westerns, Hightower and many many more. One or two day passes are available and the full lineup can be found here.

Friday: In Oakland Erykah Badu returns to the Bay Area at the Fox Theater with support from Goapele. Over at the Stork Club it's a night with Girl with Violent Arms, Buttercream Gang, the Helen Kellers, and Sam Vega. At the Uptown it's all acoustic, all night with Belly of the Whale, Roberto Miguel, Jenweisberg Experience, and Isabella - doors are at 9 and there's no cover.

In San Francisco at Bottom of the Hill it's a Girl Band reunion as they join Birdmonster, Boy in the Bubble, and Here Come The Saviors - show is 21+ and doors are at 8.30. At a slightly different pace you'll find plenty of drum 'n bass at 103 Harriet for the monthly Compression with plenty of DJ's including headliner Bryan G.

Saturday: In San Francisco we kick off at The Independent BLVD hit the stage along with MiM0SA and Majitope. At the Hemlock Tavern you can catch Hot Lunch, Sassy, and Smoke Stacks - show starts at 9.30 and it's  $7 cover. I The Mighty will be celebrating the release of their debut album at Bottom of the Hill with Via Coma, Finish Ticket, and Ryan Karazija - it's an all ages show and the show starts at 9.
