Cynthia Anderson Flash forward: Fall 2010 trends
Braving "snomegedon" at Mercedes Benz Fall 2010 Fashion Week last February wasn't half as torturous for the SW team, as was waiting all these months for the first Fall pieces to start trickling into our local boutiques. And while we still have five or more months until coats and sweaters are truly needed, this week's overcast skies have us wanting to get our hands on our favorite trends from the collections including:

From hipster print to traditional tartans, plaid comes back in a big way for fall 2010, with everyone from avant garde Comme des Garçons, to old conservative guard Carolina Herrera getting into the mix.

Voluminous knits:
Awestruck silence was the phrase on everyone's lips after Marc Jacobs wooed with a subdued show that paid homage to the label's humble beginnings, while once again turning current trends on their ear by shoving aside skinny silhouettes for billowy blouses and voluminous knits. While over at the Timo Weiland collection and equally impressed (and decidedly more hip) crowd delighted over the wooly sweater coat shown below.

Sharp Shoulders:
From Razor-sharp relicant chic at Toni Francesc, to pony-hair epaulettes at Elise Overland shoulders were a major focus at many of the collections.
