From Neiman Marcus' Union Square windows to the chicest boutiques in Rockridge, the Bay Area is buzzing with preparations for the San Francisco Symphony's The Black and White Ball. A major fashion and fund raising highlight for the society set, the event used to have a stodgy reputation but in recent years the influx of pop-music stars playing the event (such as Cyndi Lauper and The Wallflowers, both playing this year) have brought new life to the party, and so we think it's time the ladies who lunch try on a little new fashion for the event.
Just a few of our favorite Black and White Ball -ready gowns include: (Clockwise from top left)
Bibhu Mohapatra's applique gown from the Fall 2012 runway.
Marin County's own Norman Ambrose's glittering white gown from the Spring 2012 Runway.
Rafael Cennamo's Grecian gown from the Fall 2012 collection.
Reem Arca's Art Decco gown from the Fall 2012 Collection.
Naeem Khan's dizzyingly dotted gown from the Fall 2012 collection.
Jenny Packham's floral gown from the Fall 2012 collection.
