Fashion feature: Éclairée Swim 2013

There's nothing new under the sun. That old adage usually rings true when it comes to swimsuits, but designer Kelly Carrington of Éclairée  proved there can be a new take on the classic bikini with her eye-popping line of optical illusion infused suits for the 2013 season

Strategically placed net panels, which recalled those that appear on figure skating costumes, brought a sense of drama  while color blocked bottoms gave the suits a a contrasting sporty look.

The overall effect? Certainly different, but will it be a hit with real women everywhere when Summer 2013 rolls around? That might be a hard sell as one can imagine issues surrounding skin-matching, and the general discomfort of wearing netting on the waves arising.

What do you think of these optical-illusion swim suits ? Let us know in the comments!

The "swimsuits," which are essentially bodysuits, are ready-to-wear inspired.... meaning the majority are appropriate to pair with layering pieces. And guess what? These are comfortable indeed, and water friendly. Confidence is driven by comfort. You mentioned, "will it be a hit with real women everywhere?" This brand is designed for a niche market- a very special women, not average.

I like the suits! The top one REALLY reminds me of a gorgeous Jill Sanders gown from a few seasons back. I could see myself pairing it with a skirt and wearing it out to dinner!
