Designer Lisa Burke of the label Lisa Blue is no stranger to envelope pushing, but after her Summer 2012 collection which featured images of Hindu Goddesses on bikinis and induced riots, and the call for boycott around the globe, the designer appears to be taking a slightly less volatile route. For Summer 2013 the theme was a mash-up of international and multi-era influences from ancient Grecian goddesses, to Spanish Flamenco dancers, to Bettie Page pin-up beauties.
During the show a variety of over-the-top headdresses were paired with the pieces depending on which region of the world inspired the look. The overall effect of this styling came dangerously close to costumey at times, however the suits themselves, when pictured without the elaborate headwear, were ultimately sexy, and fun.
