Set in Tokyo's Yebisu Garden Hall, Hiroko Koshino's Fall 2012 collection, which debuted on Monday night was a creative and theatrical tour de force that seamlessly blended traditional Japanese design esthetics with a hyper-modern point of view.

The collection slowly developed from prim black and white looks that had just a touch of gothic appeal,  to architectural, heavily structured grays that felt super fresh and modern, and finally into a flowing technicolor array of Victoriana meets Japanese warrior princess.
