Grace Jones, Studio 54, the years before the word "recession" was in the popular vernacular, these images sprang to life on the runway at Carlos Miele's Fall 2011 collection during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

The overall effect of the collection was undeniably intoxicating, like tossing back a few glasses of champagne mid week. Extravagant? Yes. But definitely needed every once in a while.

For more information on Carlos Miele, including where to buy the collection, visit the label's official web home; and check back with Style Wylde later this week for more images from the Fall 2011 runway show.
