On Saturday night, a throng of freelance photographers, bloggers, and fashion fans descended on Mighty in San Francisco's SOMA neighborhood for the West Coast debut collection from Project Runway Alum Christopher Straub, which was the headlining event of Visage by LK Productions.

A strong first-effort by Straub, the collection featured an array of dresses that ran the gamut between casual mini-length and full length red carpet worthy, however the designer was at his strongest on the short, fun, cocktail looks.  Our favorite, an asymmetrical blue  dress with whimsical feather-tier texturing. Supporting Straub in his debut were a bevy of local designers that showed everything from embellished bikinis to street inspired menswear. And although not every collection was one that could be categorized wearable, the show portrayed the growing effort among San Francisco designers to produce professionally finished pieces that are both creative and fashion forward.

Christopher was always one of my favorite designers, he should of gone all the way to the finals! Can't wait to buy his collection when it hits the racks.

Totally loved CS's collection, some of the others were good too. My friends and I had a good time.

Don't agree with the previous poster. Clothes were ok and Chris's were the best, but, event was a little sloppy. doors were at 8 and the runway show didn't start until 11. And what was with the weird art & the belly dancer - she could dance but weird!!

The bellydancer was talented.. BUT WTF is with a bellydancer opening a runway show, RANDOM! and the guy doodling to cheesy music was super lame too.

Love the cocktail dresses, the rest, not nearly as much, but it's great to see this happening locally.
