Hot off the presses: Like waves crashing on a tourist packed beach, the news ripped through the world wide web this morning that Stefano Tonchi, the former editor of  The New York Times Style Magazine, has been appointed Editor of W. Described as a departure from classic Esprit retail design, the shop is set to occupy 18,000 square feet and to represent the radical changes in the brand since it's sale by local designer and Entrepreneur Susie Thompkins Buell in the late 1990s.   John Gunn, president of Esprit North and South America told Women's Wear Daily, "Esprit is not the same brand that it was back in the Eighties or Nineties,” he said. “We have grown up quite a bit since then and have developed a much better assortment of product. There’s really something for everyone, from sophisticated cocktail dresses and suits, to casual Ts and denim, to the more funky and hip styles."

This is awesome, I don't want to miss the event in the bay area. Surely, there's going to be a lot of good stuff with a lot of discounts! I hope I can also attend Esprit's event in New York.
