Naoto) invited Style Wylde backstage at the 2012 J-Pop Summit Festival, where both lines were debuting their latest collections. Hours before the show was scheduled to start, and before many San Franciscans had had their first cup of coffee, the action backstage was fast and furious as students from the San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology created soft pretty beauty with wild voluminous hair to go with the unique point of view of these two brands.

One of the students from the Institute explained the beauty look as soft and pretty for Frill, while a stronger eye and more couture look was needed for Gramm. For the hair, which was created with a labor intensive wrap and press technique the look was wild, volume and curls.
Leading the team of students, whom impressed with their skill, professionalism and sometimes dizzying ability to speed through twisting and braiding models' hair, was Whitney Linsner a teacher at the Institute as well as a Makeup Specialist.
