"Retro Futuristic" is a term that always sounds silly when fashion journalists throw it around, but seeing as Yohei Ohno's Fall 2017 show was said, in the official show notes, to be inspired by the Bauhaus movement of 1920's, but also had a very strong Blade Runner vibe, no other description seems fitting. Seatbelt details, copper boots and stiff fabrications that stood away from the body when in used in skirts and sleeves added to the machinery feel, while voluminous silk overcoats and flowing silhouettes added a gorgeous feminine element. The overall effect was spectacular, and truly one of the best shows all week.
